die Wege nah an den Himmel.
Er wusste :
es kommt auf den Lichteinfall an

Von sich selbst hielt er wenig
und erlaubte sich keine Perspektiven.

he stretched his canvas and painted
the paths to the sky.
He knew:
it all depends on the angle of light.

He thought little of himself
and granted himself no perspective.
